Comfort

“Please, I don’t need comfort, I just need to be alone.”

-Do you ever feel this way?

Often times we like to be alone when we are sad, and this is perfectly okay. It is important to take time for ourselves to calm down, to think, and to mourn. In the privacy of our own eyes, we can be honest with ourselves and fully express what we are feeling. It is easier when there isn’t the worry that we are being judged.

Letting your emotions out is a key stage in the process of healing; whether it be from major grieving or just from something that is upsetting you. It isn’t healthy to bottle up your emotions. Often this occurs either because people are in denial (the fear of confronting their emotions), or because they don’t want others to see their ‘weakness’.

Take Aways:
  1. You don’t have to stay and cry in-front of someone
  2. Someone shouldn’t take offense if you want to be alone
  3. It is okay if you’re not ready to talk yet
